Red Algae

Caloglossa beccarii - this beautiful red algae was send to me by a frustrated owner of a large fish tank. The algae overtook the tank quite aggressivly. I discovered that he must have gotten the spores through some mangroves from the Gulf of Mexico. This algae normally lives in brackish water but can survive in sweetwater, too.
